About NewFields UK

NewFields has been providing European businesses with practical and tactical environmental, engineering, and construction management solutions for over ten years. Following the completion of several large projects across the UK and Europe, NewFields opened the NewFields UK office in Leeds, in 2015. Since then, we have grown a strong UK-based consulting team, who are experienced in providing high-quality technical guidance and support for our clients, adding value to projects from start to finish.

Warner Golden
Partner & Senior Engineer

Warner is a partner and senior civil engineer with NewFields UK and NewFields Atlanta. Warner has over 30 years of consulting experience on a wide range of civil engineering and environmental projects including program management, remediation strategy, planning applications and cost estimation. His expertise is in contaminated land and groundwater assessment projects including landfill permit modification, remedial options appraisals (ROA), cost-benefit analysis and implementation management.

Warner has experience working on a variety of remediation projects across the UK including chemical manufacturing facilities, pesticide contaminated sites and large infrastructure projects. Warner has also been the lead engineer and project manager on a wide range of projects across the USA and Caribbean including permitting for gas fracking production and distribution facilities, RCRA and CERCLA sites and petroleum refining facilities.

Warner has a Bachelor Degree in civil engineering and holds professional engineering licenses in several states in the USA. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Air and Waste Management Association.


 
Richard Williams, Ph.D.
Environmental Geologist

Richard is an Environmental Geologist with NewFields UK. Richard is a highly qualified Environmental Geologist and project manager with 10 years of experience in environmental management, data processing and interpretation, site management and contract management, His expertise is in geological interpretation, contaminated land and groundwater assessment projects, project co-ordination, permitting and database management.

Richard has experience in project management, contractor management, construction quality assurance, contaminated land investigation, remediation design and stakeholder engagement. He has been responsible for the management of multimillion-pound remediation projects in the UK and is the head of the UK office.

Richard is a Doctor of Philosophy in Economic Geology and he holds a Masters in mining geology and a Bachelor’s degree in geology.


 
Gil Dunn
Partner & Senior Hydrogeologist

Gil is a partner and senior hydrogeologist with NewFields UK and NewFields Atlanta. Gil has over 25 years of experience in providing technical geological, hydrogeological and remediation support for numerous projects worldwide. His expertise includes strategic planning, decision-consequence analysis, probabilistic cost estimating, GIS, geological and hydrogeological modelling, soil and groundwater remediation and groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling.

Gil has been involved in a wide range of projects in the UK involving providing technical guidance, site conceptual model investigation and design, regulatory negotiations and cost analyses for a variety of remediation projects. Gil also has experience of environmental litigation management, providing expert testimonies, and high level technical guidance to clients across the USA.

Gil has both a Masters and Bachelor degree in Geology and is a Licensed Professional Geologist.


 
Diogo Gaspar, Ph.D.
Environmental Geologist

Diogo is an Environmental Geologist and GIS Engineer with NewFields UK with over 15 years of experience in environmental characterisation and analysis for Environmental Impact Assessments and environmental management in projects in Europe and Brazil. His expertise is in brownfield regeneration, environmental management, project management and GIS data processing and analysis. Additional experience includes stratigraphy, structural geology and tectonics applied to Oil & Gas exploration.

Diogo has extensive experience in the public and private sectors, and has worked on a wide range of projects within the UK including contaminated land remediation projects and utility and infrastructure projects.

Diogo is a Portuguese native and he is a Doctor of Philosophy in Sedimentary Basin Analysis with a Master’s in Geodynamics and licentiate’s degree in Geology and is fluent in English and Portuguese and has working proficiency French and Spanish.
